• LRBA Building Trades Scholarship

    The Lake Region Builders Association is sponsoring educational scholarships in the building trades through the Lake Region Builders Foundation.  A limited number of scholarships of $1000 each (or more) will be awarded to students from Becker, Mahnomen, Norman, Otter Tail, and Wilkin Counties in Minnesota.

    Eligibility

    • You are eligible to apply if you are planning a career in the following trades:
      • Carpentry or Woodworking
      • Design or Architectural Drafting
      • Construction Management
      • Electrical Construction – (Line worker school is NOT eligible)
      • Plumbing & HVAC
      • Masonry
      • Landscaping
      • Interior Design
    • You are a resident of one of these Minnesota counties: Becker, Mahnomen, Norman, Otter Tail or Wilkin.
    • You have a GPA of 2.0 or better – high school or college transcript required.
    • You have been accepted by or are enrolled in a post-secondary or technical program at an accredited institution in one of the construction related fields listed above.
    • You have not received a previous scholarship award from Lake Region Builders Foundation.  Applicants are encouraged to reapply if they have not previously been selected to receive a LRBA scholarship award.

    Guidelines

    • Annual scholarships awards vary in number and amount based on funds available and the number of applicants.
    • Students receiving a scholarship must complete at least one term of post-secondary education and be enrolled for the next term at an accredited institution.  The scholarship monies will be paid directly to that institution on the student’s account.
    • Students are responsible for gathering and submitting all of the information used to select the scholarship recipient(s):
    • A current high school or post-secondary school transcript
    • A completed current post-secondary school application or an acceptance letter from that school
    • A reference letter from a non-relative adult (i.e. counselor, teacher, etc.)
    • Completed Building Trades Scholarship Application Form
