2009 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED
The Lake Region Builders Association (LRBA) have raised funds through the Silent Auction at the 23rd annual Home & Garden Show, totaling $7000.00, to be given as scholarships in the region. Brenda Eidenschink, B&M Electric, has chaired this committee for several years. For 2009 the Lake Region Builders Association will be contributing for 7 - $1000.00 scholarships.

We have improved the appearance and made the site more user friendly. We will be implementing many changes in the near future so check back often. If there is anything you would like to add to the website, please send Sharon an email.

Also, if anyone has photos from previous projects, home shows, home tours, etc. we would love to put them online!

We would also like to include a section about the history of the LRBA, if anyone has information that they would like included or photos that would fit this area, please contact Sharon.

Tera Guetter, from the Pelican River Watershed, was the guest speaker at the general meeting on May 12th. She presented a wealth of information on the new requirements and she also provided information from Patty Swenson at the Becker County Zoning office. This was our last meeting until fall. Spring is here????? Summer is coming????? Whichever, I would venture to say everyone is running behind with our crazy weather. I have to tell you, I was really impressed with the attendance from our meeting on May 12th. As you can see by the pictures, there would have been standing room only, but a few board members needed to leave, after the board meeting, which opened up a few seats. Read more...

June 1, 2009 a new Residential Energy Code will go into effect and the Builders Association of Minnesota (BAM) has made free resources available to help you understand, build and inspect to the new energy code.
