BUILDERS BUZZ
Greetings Builders and Associates: It’s hard to believe summer is almost over. I hope everyone was able to get some time off to enjoy the few nice days we had this summer. I was able to take a few days off earlier in August to help out with an "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" house in South Range, Wisconsin. This is about 20 miles South of Superior. I went out there with another contractor, Shawn Kugler, and helped with the framing & siding. It was a good experience, but also a frustrating one if you are a perfectionist like I am. If you’d like to see pictures of the house, the builder has a website that tells the whole story and shows pictures of each day. The site is www.extremebuilderscommonwealth.com. Shawn and I worked there on Days 4 and 5 and I’m in quite a few of the rafter and roof pictures on Day 4. The show will be airing on Sunday, September 27th at 7:00.
Our September 15th general meeting will be at Floor to Ceiling Carpet One. Social is at 6:30 and the meeting is at 7:00. Come on out and support this business member.
NAHB sent out a grassroots alert to all members in August trying to get as many members as possible to contact their Senators and Representatives to get the First Time Homebuyer $8,000 tax credit extended from December 1, 2009 to December 1, 2010. They also want it extended to all home buyers; not just First Time buyers so that they can deplete the inventory of unsold homes and hopefully set the stage for new housing construction. If you can find some time to contact our members of Congress, please let them know how important continuing this tax credit is to you and your business.
That’s all for now. Enjoy your September and I hope to see you September 15th at Floor to Ceiling Carpet One.
Al Clark, President
