Greetings, The LRBA garage sale was cancelled by the 3rd snowstorm in April this past weekend. It will be rescheduled during our May meeting at Olson Pools & Spa’s.
On Monday April 28th I had the pleasure of awarding 3 of the 9 - $750.00 Scholarships given by the LRBA at the 2008 Dollars for Scholars Awards Ceremony at Detroit Lakes High School. The recipients were Detroit Lakes Seniors Matthew Beilke & Nathan Berg, who will both be attending NDSU studying Architecture, and Amanda Ronning who will be attending Minnesota State University Moorhead studying Interior Design. $150,000.00 in scholarships were awarded at this ceremony. The 6 other scholarships will be awarded to students from surrounding schools within the LRBA 5 county area.
On April 19th we held the 1st Annual LRBA Sporting Clay and Trapshoot at the Becker County Sportsmens Club. We had 6 teams with 27 shooters competing. The Greens Plumbing Team of Mark Green, Scott Green, & Nick Green won, with Scott posting the high score of 49 x 50. When the shooting was done we had a great wild game feed lunch which included Moose, Elk, Antelope, Duck, Venison, Caribou, & Pheasant. A good time was had by all and we will be looking for more people to shoot next year.
