BUILDERS BUZZ

Al ClarkGreetings Builders and Associates: My first thoughts this month go out to all of our flood victims. We want you to know that you have been in our thoughts and prayers the last few weeks as you fight back the flooding rivers. Many of our members that have not been flood victims have been going to Fargo-Moorhead to do sandbagging and dike building, and I feel it is safe to say that if our members need more help in the coming weeks, please contact us.
We’ll do whatever we possibly can to help. The Home and Garden Show was a great success despite the flooding in the Red River Valley.
The attendance numbers were down about 220 people this year which was better than we expected knowing that many people were in the Fargo-Moorhead area sandbagging. Thank you to Mike and Brenda Eidenschink for volunteering to be in charge of the Home and Garden Show and Silent Auction this year. Thank You to all of our volunteers for helping, and thank you to all of the vendors, members and contacts that donated to the Silent Auction.
This year’s auction brought in over $7000.00 for the Scholarship Fund . Also, our ticket sales brought in $937.00 to the Becker County Food Pantry. Without all of our volunteers and vendors, the show wouldn’t have been successful. Now that the stimulus package has passed, we put a brochure in the packets that were handed out as people bought their tickets.
The brochure explained the tax credit in great detail and hopefully it will encourage people to stop renting and start buying or building this year. Don’t forget to remind your clients about the $8,000 first time home buyer credit for 2009.
Please don’t forget about the Sporting Clay Fun Shoot on April 25th at the Sportman’s Club on Highway 10 East.
If you have any questions, please contact Perry Nodsle at 850-9525 or Mike Eidenschink at 849-0323.
Even if you don’t shoot, come and watch, and enjoy the food and fellowship.
Thank you and Happy Easter to all of you.
Al Clark, President
