BUILDERS BUZZ
Greetings Builders and Associates: I’d like to thank all of the builders that attended our continuing education course in February. We had a good turn-out for the class and the Table Top event. Thank you to all the vendors that participated in the Table Top and a special thank you to Modern Heating & Plumbing for sponsoring the event.
For those of you that did not attend the class in February, we have one more class on March 3rd. Please call Sharon as soon as possible to sign up for this class.
Our annual Home & Garden Show is scheduled for March 28th and 29th. We are still in need of volunteers to make this show a success so please contact Sharon or me to volunteer. Also, we still have room for vendor booths so please call to reserve a booth if you’d like to be a part of this show. It’s an inexpensive way to get your name out to a lot of people and a great way to advertise your products and services.
The annual Tour of Homes is coming up on April 4th and 5th. Jason Coley and I will be calling on many of you in the next few weeks to see if you’d like to put one of your homes on the tour. We want to get as many homes as possible on the tour so please call us to add your home if you don’t hear from us first.
We are going to be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the LRBA in November so watch for details on this special event in the coming months.
In case you weren’t aware, Congress passed a new stimulus bill allowing for a First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit in the amount of $8,000. The details haven’t been finalized yet, but hopefully this will be a great selling point in trying to get people to buy or build now. Other good news is that the MN DOLI has decided to forgo adoption of the 2009 version of the International Residential Code so the fire sprinkler mandate for all single-family homes will not go into effect now until possibly 2012. These are both great ways to start 2009.
Thank you for your time and Stay Warm.
Al Clark, LRBA President
